Welt Beating and Strecthing Machine

A simpler and better way of doing the long-established operation of beating the welt after welt sewing is offered by this new machine. The principle purpose is to lay the welt perfectly flat, parallel to the contours of the last bottom. In addition to the conventional welt beating, a small tool incorporated in the hammer stretches the outer edge of the welt slightly. Operational effort is reduced to minimum and output is generally in the region of 1200 pairs per day.

Welt Sewing Machine

This high speed, accurate welt sewing machine sews the welt to the lasted upper and insole rib with a chainstitch. Operation is easy and fast. Both awl and needle penetrate the work from the welt side. Thread tension is easily adjusted and maintained by a simple adjustment. A tight seam is ensured because the thread tension is built up evenly as the stitch is set, pulling the thread down tight to the welt at low and high speed. Both needle and awl are automatically withdrawn when the machine stops.

There are two positions on the control switch. When sewing breast to breast work the switch is set to BB. When the shoe has been sewed to a point within two inches of the finish point, the knee pad is depressed. When the foot treadle is released, the welt is automatically cut off.

At the heart of the EWS 4c HP is a unique touch screen interface where all the major controls are situated. Operator adjustment of speeds and stitch over run on cut-off are all easily adjusted.

In the designing of the EWS, the three main objects were to improve the standard of work, increase the output and reduce the operational effort. The machine is equipped with:
  • Electronic variable speed motor (150 to 900 rpm)
  • Pneumatic welt guide
  • Electronic digital temperature read-out for the waxpot
  • Programmable automatic lubricating system
  • Low voltage heating

Welt Sewing Machine for Inverted Seams

This machine is particularly used for footwear with inverted seams. It is a single-thread chain stitch sewing machine which does not form the chain on the welt but on the butt end of the insole lip. The machine is of a very solid construction and operates with 2 speeds of 280 and 320 revolutions per minute.

It is fitted with an instantaneous clutch which allows a standstill after the stitch has been carried out so that the shoe can be removed without additionally using the hand wheel of the machine. On difficult sections the stitching speed can be regulated by the treadle. An effective thread break guarantees an equally strong thread tension. By means of a welt cutting device, the welt is cut off in the machine so that, for example, the overlapping of the welt end is possible when making all-round stitched shoes. The heating of the machine keeps the waxed thread equally flexible. The machine can be equipped with a needle radius (50mm diameter) suitable for light and medium-heavy footwear, or with super-large needle radius (60mm diameter) for heavy type shoes. The needle system can easily be exchanged.
